Jennifer Keefover, Military Dependent
Jennifer lives in Fairmont, West Virginia with her husband and two children. She was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when she was 10 years old. Jennifer wears an insulin pump and continuous glucose monitor, at times the glucose readings can be off as much as 100 points. She is also sometimes unaware of her low levels. Having an Assistance Dog will give Jennifer a sense of safety knowing that they will be able to alert to her low levels.
In April 2017 Jennifer met BENSON! BENSON is a handsome black lab that is ready to help Jennifer! BENSON will alert to her low blood sugar levels, alert her when her insulin pump goes off, especially while she is sleeping, and retrieve her glucose monitor when she needs it. He will also anchor to Jennifer when she becomes anxious.
