DOG name: PERRY
Team since: 2020
Joe Hren, USMC Veteran
Joe served 4 years in the Marine Corps, deploying to both Afghanistan and Iraq. While in country, he encountered rocket and mortar attacks, small arms fire, and civilian uprisings. As a result, Joe is diagnosed with PTSD. He experiences anxiety, insomnia, has trouble regulating anger, and is often hypervigilant. He hopes an Assistance Dog will help him recognize his emotions, and allow him to deescalate the situation before it gets out of hand. Joe wants to be the man and father that his young family deserves.
PERRY and Joe met in November 2020! PERRY will anchor to calm his anxiety, visit and cuddle to help as Joe works through his emotions. PERRY will help Joe rebuild relationships with his family, and allow him to be the husband and Dad they deserve! We look forward to watching this team grow together.
