DOG Name: SANDERS
Team Since: 2018
Faith is a happy and energetic 7 year old who loves animals, especially dogs and horses. She joined her family through adoption as an infant. She has been diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder, ADHD and Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder. She deals with impulsivity, has a hard time self-regulating her behaviors, and experiences angry outbursts. She often struggles with age-appropriate social and safety decision making, as well. While her behaviors make it challenging for the family to go out and safely enjoy activities together, it is their hope that an Assistance Dog will be what Faith needs to keep her attention, engage in appropriate interactions with strangers, and stay close instead of wandering off.
Faith met her new buddy, SANDERS and they became fast friends! SANDERS is a sweet and loving golden who will help Faith and her family by alerting to changes in her energy levels and moods. He will also interrupt negative behaviors, and provide Deep Pressure Therapy, comforting Faith when she has a hard day. We cannot wait to see the life-changing work these two will do together!
